PEOPLE DIFFER GREATLY IN ABILITY, but ideally before starting a marathon program, you should have been running about a year. You should be able to comfortably run distances between 3 and 6 miles. You should be training 3-5 days a week, averaging 15-25 miles a week. You should have run an occasional 5-K or 10-K race. It is possible to run a marathon with less of a training base (particularly if you come from another sport), but the higher your fitness level, the easier this 18-week program will be.

flat feet

http://www.flatfoot.com/Injuries.htm

The excess motion of over-pronation stretches the Plantar Fascia more than normal, causing tears, inflammation and pain. When the tears heal, they're covered with scar tissue, making the Plantar Fascia less flexible and more susceptible to further tearing. The pain is usually worse after periods of rest.

Member of The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy

http://www.lizhunterphysio.co.uk/

I’ve worked as a physio for 18yrs, in private practice for 10yrs since having my 2 children. More recently I set up my own practice in June 2005. The opportunity arose to acquire Jubilee House in the centre of town and I had it converted specifically to meet the needs of a physio clinic, with the added convenience of on site parking. This means I can offer more appointment times and be more flexible with the time spent with patients.

I’ve had years of experience assessing & treating back & neck complaints. Every physio’s bread ‘n butter. I also practice Acupuncture for pain relief. I find it a good addition to my hands on approach to treatment.

As I keep fit and train for triathlon, swimming, cycling & running, I have a keen interest in sports injuries. I have attended several sports injury and biomechanics courses over the last few years & enjoy working with people to not only treat injuries but advise on safe return to their sport.
